Our Story

Hey! I’m Danuta, and this is my soft-natured but wacky whippet, Piper. She’s my co-worker and the inspiration behind the business. Whiptails was launched in the summer of 2021 from my home just outside Glasgow, Scotland. We are a one dog- one woman team, responsible for everything at Whiptails, from the process of developing new apparel to model & location scouting, photography and videography creation, website development, marketing and a whole lot more! All of your orders are handmade by me in my home.

Through Whiptails I’m dedicated to creating well-considered designs suited to our sighthound’s needs that also highlight their characteristics as an elegant and active breed, while also catering to and reflecting the changing lifestyles and close relationships that we share with our dogs. They aren’t just our pets, they are our furbabies and besties! Whether you enjoy taking your sighthounds for a walk around town, or down to the pub, venturing out for a hike or day trip, or taking them for zoomies with their doggy friends down at the local dog park, you can discover designs suited to your requirements and the occasion!

Styles for Whippets, Greyhounds & Iggies

 The Whiptails range of designs originally created for whippets has now grown to include other sighthounds such as greyhounds, whiggys, and Italian greyhounds. All designs are tested for fit and function with the help of sighthounds in Glasgow and from the online dog community across the UK.

Made-to-order

Whiptails runs on a made-to-order model, meaning apparel is not made until your order is received. This in turn reduces waste, lessening our environmental impact. The only stock on hand is from your returns, no excess stock is created - so it won't end up in landfill in the event that it does not sell. Materials are purchased in smaller quantities as needed -nearly all from other UK businesses!

Eco-conscious designs

Whiptails includes fabric choices including Organic cotton, GOTs and OEKO-TEX certified fabrics which are environmentally friendly. While our apparel is aesthetically pleasing, we don't follow short-term trends and instead focus on styles that will remain current for years to come; I make unique designs that I hope you will love and want to hang onto. Repairs are also available to add more life to your Whiptails clothing.

International Shipping

Tracked shipping is available on international orders with the Royal Mail service. Delivery aims 3-5 working days for Europe and 5-7 working days worldwide. Please note that orders will take extra time to get through customs once it reaches your country, and your parcel may be subject to extra customs duty fee - please check the regulations in your local area for goods arriving from the UK.

Compostable packaging

At Whiptails our packaging is minimal to avoid unnecessary use of materials, to help lessen our environmental impact. It is made up of compostable materials - our bags are carbon negative! You can also dissolve the bag in your parcel in a bowl of boiling water, there won't be any microplastic fibres left.

Whiptails products have been designed with attention to detail. Its not about seeking perfection, its about making products that are fit for our dogs lifestyles, stand the test of time, are well made and provide a solution in their wardrobe that makes our sighthounds lives more comfortable, keep them warm, safe and yes, designs that help them look their cutest, and that I hope you'll love!
